Home Sweet Home

Yo yo
everyone!! Sorry for the very late update.. ya, I’m still on planet Earth!

It has been 8 months since I was back from New Zealand. Time really flies!! So what have I been up to all this while? Haha..Went to visit some friends and had a wonderful time with them…Sunway Lagoon, The Curve, Pavillion.. they even followed me back to Malacca! Sure was fun then… thoroughly enjoy the times I had with u all guys!! Hope u all don’t forget me since mos of u n nz now..lol..

Went to Putrajaya too for my interview with officer from JPA…which after 1 month or so…landed me with a job..in Malacca General Hospital.. where I am working now. Life has been a routine from then onwards..haha…sort of…but has been fun also most of the time. So what exactly is my day like in hospital? Basically since im still a provisionally registered pharmacist (PRP) I get to ‘travel’ around different department almost every month to absorb all the knowledge available for me…hmm..sounds like a plant or sponge here..lol..anyway..ya…one thing good about being a PRP is even though we don like a particular department, we will be gone to another different one before long..haha..but after this yr..when we are assigned to a fix department..if we don like that then..its too bad…coz we are stuck there for 3 yrs..sob2..coz for all registered pharmacist in Malaysia..we will have to work for 1 year to become fully registered pharmacist (FRP) and then another 3 yrs of compulsory service with government sector.

I had been to outpatient department (giving medicines to patient that are going home after seeing the doctors or discharging from wards after they are well), inpatient department (giving medicines to patients staying in hospital ward mainly due to more severe illness that require hospitalizations), medical store department (deals with purchase and distributing medicines and medical equipments of hospital and nearby clinics), drug information service (answers all kinds of queries that the hospital health professionals forwarded or from the public), therapeutic drug monitoring department (monitors the drug level in the circulation system of patients by running test on the blood collected from them and give recommendations to doctors) and currently in the cytotoxic drug department (calculate the appropriate doses and assist in preparation of anti-cancer drugs).

So the only routine here is work, work and more work.. besides working from 8 to 5 Monday to Friday..we have to work according to roasters too..sometimes came early for morning shift (7.30 to 8am), sometimes luch call (1-2pm), sometimes after 5 (5-6pm), sometimes night time (10pm to 7.30am), sometimes weekends (10am to 4pm)…and the newest to this collection of extra working hours is the 2 – 10pm shift…I wonder where should I park my car then since we have to be here quite early to get carpark in the morning…hmm..finding carpark at 2 would be a feat..haha..anyway…with all these I should be rich cos I work extra hours but guess what..we can’t claim for overtimes….lol..nway…I guess we can always look at the bright side…we will be more experienced with all these extra practice and we get to provide more services & care to the patients…FUYOH!! So noble!

But thank God… life in HM has been interesting so far..a lot of new things to learn since we kept on changing departments and meet new colleagues (esp for PRP). We have almost 40+ pharmacists and another 30+ support members (assistant pharmacists, trainees etc).. so it’s like a big family here…so far the seniors that I met had been very helpful…they are most of time happy to teach us…and the rumours of them being stingy of sharing knowledge with the juniors are minimal..had got to know a few good friends here too : ) But of course there are dramas, gossips and office politics too over here..haha..but can’t complain too much..i have heard worse scenarios else where…

Working has been to me…quite tiring…although I stay at home without having to worry about meals..but still every day after work I found myself too tired to do anything..haha..so most of the time, I just sit on the couch and watch tv…lazy bump here..lol..of course have to do some homework (we do have assignment and projects since we are provisionally registered aka under training)..but sometimes, few of us colleagues do go out for drink or catch a movie..hmm….maybe im the only one not being productive after work…sigh..have to start exercising and move my lazy bump…

Wow…talked so much about work…ya..ya..this is actually hinting that I have no life apart from work..haha…so wats up from here onwards? Hmm..im getting a new camera soon..hopefully…maybe an SLR ….trying to finish watching some tv series that I have borrowed…trying to read more…trying to start exercising more often…trying to learn some graphics related softwares…trying to reply emails and updates u all with myself more often…trying to be more involved in church activities…wow..so many trying…haha…hopefully will have some success stories behind all these tryings..haha..

So how bout u all out there? So sorry it took me so long to update anything about myself..as I have said…the tryings has been going on for a while.haha…will try harder next time to better manage my time :P okla, till we meet again, take care and God bless!! Do drop by to update me with the latest news about urself ya : )
